This XM38 universal smart key cannot be used on Toyota 8A/4A (requires Toyota XM38).

What is XM38

XM38 is a series of core chips.
XM38 series smart key is divided into the Toyota special series, Hyundai special series, and universal series.
The Toyota XM series can support the generation of Toyota 8A models and universal smart cards, and the Hyundai 8A can support the generation of Hyundai, Kia 8A, and universal models.
The universal intelligent type supports the generation of 8A and 4D household models and is also compatible with the original universal intelligent models.

Xhorse XM38 smart key has three different types:
Xhorse XM38 Toyota Smart Series
Xhorse Toyota XM38 smart key series can support the generation of Toyota 8A and universal smart card models.

Xhorse XM38 Hyundai Smart Series
Xhorse Hyundai XM38 smart key can support the Hyundai and Kia 8A smart key generation.

Xhorse Universal XM38 Smart Key Series
Xhorse XM38 universal smart key supports 8A and 4D chip generation for other models and it is also compatible with original universal smart key models.

You can generate the Xhorse XM38 smart key using your Xhorse VVDI key programming device, then program it to the vehicle using any key programming device.
The VVDI universal smart key can be generated wirelessly, without connecting a VVDI remote cable to it.

Please note that the key blade is not included with the Xhorse Universal Smart Key.
